Monnett was created to give people an alternative social space, where privacy matters: a place for exchange that is free from Big Tech surveillance.

Monnett stands for “Mon Network Social” or “Mon Net Social”. The extra “t” stands for “transparent”: my transparent social network, because you control the algorithm and our operations are entirely transparent.

Yes. Monnett is a European alternative to platforms like Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. It offers a space for genuine social interaction and a feed shaped by you, not by engagement algorithms, plus a chronological Home page that always shows content from your friends and the accounts you follow.

Monnett is designed and built in Luxembourg, at the heart of Europe. Privacy, democracy and digital rights are incredibly important to us. We’re built in Europe, but we’re here to serve global citizens wherever they are, and we welcome contributions from people across the globe.

Monnett is headquartered in Luxembourg, a founding member of the European Union. The company behind it is Monnet Social SA. Our digital infrastructure is based in Luxembourg and Belgium.

A feed changes what you spend time on. When posts are ranked to keep you watching, something designed to grab your attention can appear ahead of the updates you came to see.

Monnett gives you a different starting point: the people you follow, in time order. Memberships make it possible to earn money from providing that service, so the app can fit into your life rather than take over your attention.

You can already shape your feed with the “Discover settings” panel, share video and photo content, enjoy the chronological Home page, a Discover page based on your preferences and end-to-end encrypted messaging, where you can take back messages you’ve sent. We’ll keep building new features around your needs, and you can always message us with ideas.

Simple tags let you customise what you want to see. Choose which posts should appear in your Discovery page from categories like Entertainment, Learn, Life, News, Sports,Art and Tracel. Not yet, but a web version is on our roadmap. For now, use the Monnett app from the Google Play Store or App Store.

Your Home page is empty at first, because it shows content from friends and accounts you follow. Invite your friends, and search for topics you’re interested in from the Discover page using the search bar. Need a hand? We’ll be sad to see you go, but we won’t stop you or make it unnecessarily hard. Here’s a step-by-step guide to deleting your Monnett account. If you have a paid Membership, cancel it in your Apple or Google subscription settings too.

Once you request deletion, your account enters a 30-day period before it’s removed along with all your data. After that your account is permanently deleted and all data erased. This can’t be undone.

Check whether your registration already went through by trying to log in with your account credentials.

First check that your connection is stable, then that your file isn’t too large. You can reduce photo and video sizes with an external tool. If the problem persists, contact our support team.

Messages on Monnett are end-to-end encrypted. We don’t constantly peek at your private chats, and we don’t sell them. What’s yours stays yours.

You can also take back messages you’ve sent, on every plan.

Yes. Privacy matters on every plan. Paying for a Membership removes ads and increases your limits, but privacy shouldn’t depend on which plan you choose.

Monnett doesn’t build behavioural advertising profiles to target you. Like any social app, it needs some information to run your account and deliver its features. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.

You must be at least 18 years old.

Running a social network costs money: photos and videos need storage, messages need infrastructure, and the app needs people to build, maintain and support it.

Memberships pay for that service, so we can build an app you value that respects your attention and isn’t addictive, rather than making surveillance advertising the foundation of the business. A small fee lets you enjoy Monnett without ads and supports a network where you choose what you see.

Membership gives you an ad-free experience and more room to share: more posts, longer videos, more photos in a single post and longer descriptions. You also get a Membership badge, more story ring colours and a filter for discovering other Members and their posts.

Your Membership pays for running and improving Monnett, including the team and technology that keep the app working. We want you to come back because you enjoy seeing your friends, not because a feed keeps pulling you into another hour of scrolling. See everything included on the Memberships page.

Free is a way to get started: privacy-friendly ads, 1 post a day, up to 1,000 followers, following up to 100 accounts and videos up to 10 seconds.

Member removes ads and gives you up to 10 posts a day, 2,500 accounts to follow, up to 10,000 followers, videos up to 3 minutes and post descriptions up to 10,000 characters. You also get a discovery filter for finding Members and 4 story ring colours.

Member Plus includes everything in Member, with up to 30 posts a day, 10,000 accounts to follow, up to 1,000,000 followers, videos up to 10 minutes and 8 story ring colours.

Yes. Member and Member Plus include a badge next to your username. It shows you’re a paying Member supporting a more human social network built around people, privacy and control of your feed. See which plans include it on the Memberships page.

Privacy-friendly ads are contextual advertising without a detailed profile of your behaviour to target you, much like magazine ads. The Free plan includes them; Member and Member Plus remove them.

Yearly billing means you pay for 12 months in one payment, with significant discounts compared to monthly. Prices are valid for Luxembourg and most of the EU and adjust by territory, so check the price and renewal terms in the app before confirming.

Member starts at €34.99 a year (about €2.92 a month). Member Plus starts at €69.99 a year (about €5.83 a month). The full amount is charged at once, and the plan renews annually unless you cancel.

Yes. Monthly Memberships renew each month and yearly Memberships each year, unless you cancel. Apple or Google handles the payment through the account you subscribed with.

To check your renewal date or cancel, on iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Select Monnett and follow the instructions.

Yes. You can upgrade from within the app at any time, and the store shows when a change takes effect and what you’ll be charged. An upgrade may start immediately; a downgrade may start at your next renewal.

If you cancel, you normally keep your benefits until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and it won’t renew. Free-trial access after cancelling can work differently, so check the cancellation screen first.

You buy Memberships inside the app. On iPhone, Apple handles payment through your Apple Account; on Android, Google handles it through your Google Play account.

You can use the payment methods available for your store account and country; the payment screen shows your options before you confirm. Receipts and subscription settings are managed by that store.
