1What is Monnett?
Monnett is a social network made in Europe. On Monnett you are not a ‘user’, you’re a human being hosted in a digital space. Monnett gives you control of your feed, actual privacy and an escape from the algorithms that harm you, and hyper-targeted surveillance advertising.
It is our response to Big Tech’s monopoly over social spaces.
2Why was Monnett created?
Monnett was created to give people an alternative social space, where privacy matters. The goal of Monnett is to maintain a space for exchange that is free from Big Tech surveillance.
3Where does the name Monnett come from?
Monnett stands for “Mon Network Social” or “Mon Net Social”.
But where does the additional “t” come from?
Well, the second “t” stands for “transparent” (Transparency in English)
‘My transparent social network’, because you control the algorithm, and our operations are entirely transparent.
4Is Monnett an alternative to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok?
Yes. Monnett is a European alternative to social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. It offers a space for genuine social interaction and a feed manually determined by you, not by engagement algorithms. What more if gives you a chronological Home Page that always shows you content from your friends and accounts you follow.
5Who can join Monnett?
At present, Monnett is a place for people over 18 years old, and open to people around the world, including countries of the European Union, the United States, Canada, Mexico, and countries around the globe, unfortunately excluding China.

1What makes Monnett different from other social media platforms?
Monnett gives people complete control by removing the algorithm all together. Each person decides what they want to see in their feed, that means people decide to see updates from their friends, accounts they follow and recommendations based on their settings, no addictive, casino-like algorithms.
Monnett protects people’s privacy by design. Monnett does not track your experience while you are present on the network. Monnett does not create psychological profiles based on your time on the app and your interactions to then serve you with hypertargeted surveillance-based advertising.
Monnett is far more environmentally friendly than our competitors, by reducing data collection on interactions, multiple hosting of your information and advanced toolings.

2What features will Monnett have?
In our Beta phase you can already shape your feed with the “Show me” control panel, share video and photo content, enjoy the chronological Home Page, and a Discovery page based on your preferences. In the near future we’ll be introducing encrypted messaging, so you can communicate without having to worry about your privacy. As our community grows, we will be developing new functionalities according to your needs. You can always message us and share your ideas with us.
3How does Monnett's control panel work?
Monnett allows people to control what goes in their feeds with simple sliders that enable you to customize what you want to see. You can decide how much content you see from different categories (e.g. Entertainment, Learn, life, News, Sports) and adjust how far you feed reaches based on local, national or global content.

On Monnett, you have full control over content types, sources, and topics Your feed, your rules.

1What are recommended password requirements for monnett?
We encourage you to set up a secure password that you don’t use on any other app. It should have at least 8 characters and include at least one special character. If you enter a password that does not meet these criteria, the button to proceede will be grayed out.
2I can't register because of an "internal serve error"?
If you encounter an "internal server error" please check if your registration did not already process in our backed by trying to log in with your account credentials.
3I have an issue with uploading content on Monnett.
If your content fails to upload to Monnett, please check if you have a stable connection. If that is working properly, you can verify if your content is not to large. You can optimise your photos and videos using external downsizing tools. In case the problem still persist, please contact our support team.
4How do I start on Monnett?
When you first register on Monnett, it's very important you take some steps to build your experience on the platform. By default your Home Page will be empty, because it's designed to show you content from friends and accounts you follow.
You can invite your friends to join you on the platform and search for topics your interested in by going to the Discovery page and using the search bar.

Monnett follows strict European data protection standards (GDPR) and does not track your behavior, location, or interactions to build advertising psychological profiles . All communication and messaging are encrypted, and your data is stored securely and protected under EU privacy laws.
2What does ‘made in Europe’ mean in the context of Monnett?
Our social network is designed and built in Luxembourg, at the heart of Europe. It means that privacy, and the preservation of democracy and digital rights are incredibly important to us. At the same time we may be ‘built in Europe’ but we are here to serve global citizens, wherever they may be, to the limits of our capabilities, and we welcome contributions from people across the globe.

Monnett is headquartered in Luxembourg, a founding member of the European Union. The company behind Monnett is called ‘Monnet Social SA’. Our digital infrastructure is based in Luxembourg and Belgium.

1Is Monnett free to use?
Yes. Monnett offers a free tier for all people. However, to support independence from surveillance advertising and data exploitation, Monnett will also offers a subscription-based “Freedom” plan, which gives you additional tools and features while preserving full privacy.
2May I purchase Monnett ‘Premium’?
Monnett will be sustained by subscriptions. Our ‘premium’ tier is called ‘Freedom’ as it enables people to be hosted on the platform by paying for the service, and escaping Big Tech that treats people like users, and turns them intro ‘products. Starting at 2.99 EUR/month, Freedom will enable you to connect with more people, and be totally free to grow your space on Monnett.
